What Goes into a Kickstarter Campaign: BTS with Photo Factory 360

by Hugh BrownstoneLeave a Comment

In this installment of our occasional series on Kickstarter projects, we interview Russ Yoskowitz, CEO, founder and lead developer of Photo Factory 360, to learn what’s involved in bringing a product from ideation through manufacturing, marketing — and funding.
It began as a project to do something else – live events, “the red carpet thing,” as Russ says — but Photo Factory quickly morphed into a complete 360° product studio in a box aimed at small business owners who want to give prospective customers on the web a more immersive experience with their small products – without relying on professional photographers.

We enjoyed our time with Russ, and think you'll find his comments interesting.

As for Photo Factory 360 the product — a turn-key system consisting of motorized turntable, enclosed and seamless stage, lights, software, and cloud storage — the Kickstarter campaign is now live and can be found here.

Interactive 360° product photos are ready to disrupt the market.

Via Press Release:
In a move that could change the e-commerce landscape, a new company is ready to Kickstart the inevitable 360° product photography revolution to make e-commerce better for everyone.

Photo Factory 360 LLC has developed a new product called the X1-PRO; to make 360° product photography easy and affordable for e-commerce entrepreneurs. The product is a combination of hardware, software, and integrated cloud hosting service; that allows an amateur, unskilled in photography or technical ability to quickly create a 360° virtual rendering of an object. The rendering is of such high quality, that it is difficult to distinguish between one of top professional quality. This disruptive technology has the power to change the landscape of e-commerce, by making 360° product photos more attainable for entrepreneurs. Which creates a better experience for the consumer and increased sales for the entrepreneur.

The X1-PRO system includes a light box, turntable, cloud hosting service, and software designed to make the process as simple and intuitive as possible. Photo Factory 360 LLC has a working prototype and will be crowdsourcing the first production run via Kickstarter launching February 23, 2015 at 11 AM EST. The first backers can own the system, and start cranking out all the high quality 360° photos they want for only $499. That’s the current price of two renderings of professional quality, by companies with a pay per product rendering business model. Now, entrepreneurs can eliminate the middle man and get unlimited renderings for the same price. Any interested members of the media should visit the preview link to the Kickstarter and contact the CEO, Russell Yoskowitz, for additional information. This press release is meant to find members of the media interested in writing about the Kickstarter project, which will be finalized for launch on February 23, 2015 at 11 AM EST.
