The Great Something - a Kickstarter film project

The Great Something is a short 30-40 minute comedy/drama film about two life-long friends, Peter and Michael, who have their friendship tested when Michael convinces Peter to go on a hunt for missing Civil War treasure.

Having found an old journal by a Civil War Army Major who stole his camp's supply money and deserted his post, Michael “persuades” Peter to go on a grand chase to find the missing money. What Peter doesn't realize is that Michael has a motive to finding the treasure. Once Peter discovers the truth about Michael's plan, it creates a rift, albeit a hilarious one, between the friends. Will their friendship survive this test? Find out by helping us get the movie made!

Pre-production is currently underway. Once funding is complete, auditions will commence in the spring with a target production start date of early Summer 2012.

While we are no strangers to making short films, we would like to expand on what we normally do and try something different and exciting.

We understand the time and effort it takes to make a movie thus the reason we are looking to Kickstarter to make our project happen. While only consisting of 3 people in our small production company, our love of making movies drives us to make this project a reality.

Greetings, firstly thanks for the great video blog! We just finished up a 4-day video shoot on Kyoto and thought to share the film with you. We did this one on a Canon 5D II mounted with a Nikon 24mm f/1.4G lens on glidecam as A cam, with a Sony A65 mounted with Zeiss 24mm f/2 and 85mm f/1.4 as B cam. I've been to Kyoto several times, and so this time wanted to capture its zen beauty. Check it out. Kyoto HD “Rising Dawn” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgDyTK0Rz6w

Cheers, Patrick Shyu

Recently I had the opportunity to observe the work of two good friends of mine (oneduo.co) as they design and manufacture a collection of truly awesome and unique high end bags. I filmed this short video as glimpse into the work of these artisan designers. Personally, it was quite an experience to see and take in the amount of precision work, mostly manual, that each of these items requires on one hand, the the love for the material and process on the other.
