Memories of Zion National Park? Watch “Zion” Shot in 8k and Pack Your Bags

Ok, I wasn't planning on posting 2 time lapses in one day, but I just saw this and memories came flooding in.

I know you'll probably not have the same experience, tho this is phenomenally beautiful if you have a high res or 4k monitor (in my case I have a retina iMac), but watch anyway.

4 summers ago, I took our family out to the southwest to see the major national parks. We started in Bryce canyon and the kids were amazed. But I'll never forget the excitement and awe from the next day when we drove into Zion national park. Everyone in the car was awestruck. My youngest was just asking me the other day if we could go back to Zion – it impacted her that much.

This short captures much of that feeling for me. Astoundingly beautiful.

They should be showing this on every 4k TV in the stores – this would sell some TVs!

The crew doesn't mention gear, but they do say it was mainly shot in 8k.

ZION is the culmination of nearly a month spent exploring Zion National Park during peak fall color. Exquisitely carved by the Virgin River over millions of years, Zion Canyon is one of the most stunning places on earth. But don't stop there! This park has so much more to offer outside of the main canyon. Golden meadows, sweeping vistas, red rock mountains, towering white temples, and powerful ancient rivers comprise this incredible treasure. This film was shot primarily in 8K.
