“Three years ago my co-founder John and I decided the status quo just wasn't going to cut it anymore so we set out to engineer the future. Along our path we've turned down job opportunities, relationships, and several acquisition offers by major tech companies because we're committed to building a great business that will last.” – Emery Wells, Co-Founder, Frame.io

Geez, that’s called “betting the farm.”

Frame.io looks to be a slick mash-up of Dropbox, Vimeo, email, and – as their tag line suggests – something more.

We don’t yet know what “something more” means. Is it a competitor or complement to Movidiam, Studio Binder and others?

We’ll find out a after the launch on March 31st.

Frame.io is launching March 31st

Via Frame.io:

In July of 2014 we announced Frame.io to the world and with that, a promise of a more connected and collaborative way to create films, videos, and all sorts of multi-media.

But our journey started long before that. Three years ago my co-founder John and I decided the status quo just wasn't going to cut it anymore so we set out to engineer the future. Along our path we've turned down job opportunities, relationships, and several acquisition offers by major tech companies because we're committed to building a great business that will last.

Today, I am pleased to announced we are ready to deliver on that promise. Did it take six months longer than expected? Yes. But we are now launching in 25 days which means by March 31st, all 14,000 of you will get an invite. Holy shit!

Those of you who scored platinum status during signup will get an early invite next week because #platinum, but we have a special reward in store for all of our early supporters.

As always, please email me directly with any comments, suggestions, love or hate. If you're in NYC or visiting NYC we encourage you to pop in and say hello. We're friendly.

Sincerely,

Emery Wells – Co-Founder

P.S. We will be attending NAB in Las Vegas, April 14th – 16th, and we'll have a Frame.io demo station setup in the south hall. Details TBD.
