Timelapse Moab 2015: This is Special

by Hugh BrownstoneLeave a Comment

I can’t think of a better way to meld photography with a spiritual journey through time and nature than spending five nights under the dark skies of Moab, Utah learning timelapse photography in Arches National Park. planet5D friend, TL specialist and instructor Ron Risman will be holding his 2015 Timelapse Moab Workshop there in May. With only 11 spots available (and a planet5D discount – use coupon code “Planet5D”), my advice is: book now.

For each of the last three summers, I’ve traveled the American southwest only to miss the magnificent Arches National Park, just outside of Moab, UT.

And for each of the last three summers I’ve said to myself “Self, you must visit the inspiration for the fine art masquerading as pop culture, Saturday morning Looney Toons/Merrie Melodies TV series “RoadRunner.”

Ron’s 2015 Timelapse Moab may just be the thing that gets me there.

Everywhere but Moab

Everywhere but Moab

For if Road Runner (Latin: velocitus tremenjus) and Wile E. Coyote (Latin: road-runnerus digestus) are paragons of speed in one of the most awesome landscapes on the planet, the closest I’m ever coming to experiencing what they do is by speeding up time itself in said same location.

I hope to see you there.

Registration for Timelapse Moab is now open, but space is limited to just 11 participants. Timelapse Moab is the most comprehensive timelapse photography workshop, and focuses on teaching all the skills needed to professionally capture and produce breathtaking time-lapse and night sky films using your DSLR.

Moab, Utah is home to Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, La Sal Mountain Range, and Dead Horse Point State Park – and is located just minutes from the Canyonlands airport, 90 minutes from Grand Junction, CO or four hours from Salt Lake City. Workshop instructor Ron Risman chose this location due to the incredible red-rock landscape, dry desert weather, and extremely dark skies. The dates for this workshop start just after the new moon, allowing participants to capture stunning images of the stars, planets, Milky Way, and shadows across the beautiful landscapes as the moon sets in the west.
