Oposto do Sexo (The Opposite of Sex)

Notice we didn’t even mention this 70+ episode web series entitled Oposto do Sexo was shot with Magic Lantern RAW on a Canon 50D? Notice it didn’t matter?

So: we get an email from planet5D reader and filmmaker Leandro Correa, who tells us about this web series he’s doing that has just been nominated for a pile of awards at the LAWEBFEST 2015.

Cool, right?

So I wander over to YouTube and watch one episode.

BAM! I’m hooked.

And truly couldn’t care less about the tools and techniques he used to create it (although the skills and techniques are excellent — and RAW on a 50D is noteworthy for a number of reasons, not least of which is that the 50D is a STILLS camera).

But why don't I care about that?

Because it’s what’s happening in FRONT of the camera, stupid (oh, and the editing at the back)!

I love it.

Congrats, Leandro – and good luck!

Message from Leandro:

My name is Leandro, and I produce a web series in Rio de Janeiro called “Oposto do Sexo” (Opposite of Sexo). It’s a comedy about the failed attempts of a husband to have sex with his own wife (sometimes the other way around).

We release new webisodes every Monday 10:30 BRT at www.youtube.com/opostodosexo, and subtitle them in English every Thursday or so. It’s an independent production and there are over 70 webisodes released so far.

The reason for my contact is that we just got nominated to the 2015 LAWEBFEST in Los Angeles for
Outstanding Comedy Series
Outstanding Writing
Outstanding Visual/Special Effects
Outstanding Director
Outstanding Ensemble Cast
Outstanding Series Premise

Also, every webisode was entirely shot using Magic Lantern Raw Hack on an 5 years old Canon 50D. Does that content interests you in any way?

I’m a big fan of you site. I follow your blog since I first bought my 7D in 2010 and I’d love the opportunity to be a part of it somehow.
Thanks and best regards,

Leandro Correa – Cineasta, Historiador e Fotógrafo
