Zacuto Giveaway Starts Today

Some of the best cinematographic candy – I mean accessory gear – comes from highly-regarded Chicago-based company Zacuto. For the next four days, they’re giving away $10,000 worth of it.

Fair notice: I bought and use regularly the Zacuto EVF and Z-finder – they are part of my standard filmmaking kit. Yes, their stuff is expensive. But their stuff also works well and feels wonderful in the hand.

I’m far from the only one who feels this way.

So the great news is that for the next four days – beginning today – Zacuto is giving away a set of really great gear and/or major gift certificates each day.

How great? Try their VCT Universal Baseplate (normally $650) and a $350 credit at Music Bed today; a $1,250 Zacuto gift certificate along with a $625 credit at Borrow Lenses tomorrow; a Zacuto Next Gen Recoil rig and a SmallHD monitor (total value up to$3,200) on Wednesday; and their final giveaway Thursday, their brand new Gratical HD Micro-OLED EVF and Kessler’s Second Shooter (total value of $5,200).

This is serious dosh.

I’m already envious of the winners.

Zacuto is giving away over $10,000 worth of gear!

It’s four days of giveaways starting Monday December 15th through Thursday December 18th, 2014.

Monday’s Giveaway

VCT Universal Baseplate ($650 value) and $350 licensing credit at Music Bed

Zacuto VCT Universal Baseplate

The VCT Universal baseplate echoes a traditional ENG style camera with a modern twist. VCT worked well for ENG cameras but modern cameras are lighter and shorter, without a heavy tape recorder or film magazine on the back. Zacuto designers set out to create a plate that merged the stability and ease of a classic VCT with contemporary cameras and rigs.

Tuesday’s Giveaway

$1,250 Zacuto Gift Card and $625 credit at Borrow Lenses

Wednesday’s Giveaway

Zacuto Next Gen Recoil Rig of Choice (up to $2,200 in value) and a SmallHD Monitor ($999 value)

Zacuto Next Generation Recoil

The core of the Next Generation Recoil Rigs is the VCT Universal baseplate. Zacuto’s reinvented VCT style baseplate is universal for all cameras from a tiny mirrorless to a camera the size of an ALEXA and everything in between. This is the last baseplate you’ll ever need. Next Generation Recoil rigs are designed for optimal balance and comfort when shoulder mounted or on a tripod. With lenses and cameras being similar weights, the balance point is approximately where the lens meets the camera body.

Thursday’s Giveaway

Gratical HD Micro-OLED EVF ($3,800 value) and Kessler’s Second Shooter ($1,399 value)

Zacuto Gratical HD Micro-OLED EVF

Over two years in the making, Zacuto brought five different engineering companies together to bring this newest EVF concept to life. The Gratical HD Micro-OLED electronic viewfinder uses an extremely powerful FPGA dual core processor and Zacuto designed Micro-OLED displays to provide a hugely expanded contrast range.
