Another Incredible Time-Lapse: “Two Lands” by Joe Capra

by Hugh BrownstoneLeave a Comment

Question: What is the time-lapse category that stands above Wayne’s and Garth's “We're not worthy?” Answer: Derek Zoolander’s “Ridiculously good-looking.”

This month’s ridiculously good-looking time-lapse comes to us – once again – from photographer and planet5D reader Joe Capra.

Massively competent and adventurous, Joe sent us a link to his latest time-lapse called “Two Lands – Greenland | Iceland”

I don’t know how he handles the temperature and transportation extremes of his location shoots, from helicopters (the Australian Gold Coast) to sled dogs — but I do know (see below) that Joe used a bunch of Canon 5D Mk III's and Canon glass with gear from Dynamic Perception and eMotimo.

“Gorgeous footage of Greenland and Iceland day and night” ought to be enough to hit the “play” button; more words than that somehow seem superfluous and an injustice to what you’ll see with your own eyes.

Enjoy!

“Two Lands – Greenland | Iceland” is the result of a very brief 10 day shoot I did for Panasonic. The video is a compilation of some of the footage I shot while there. Some of the other shots are in lockdown by the client so I used what I could to create this video. I spent 4 days shooting in Iceland and 6 days shooting in Greenland. Greenland locations include the Kangerlussuaq, Ilulissat, Ilimanaq, Ilulissat Ice Fjord, Russell Glacier, Greenland Icecap, and Disko Bay. Iceland locations include the South Coast, Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Kirkjufell, and Grundarfjörður.

All footage was shot in super high resolution 4K Ultra HD.
