Trials Cyclist Danny Macaskill in Short Film THE RIDGE: Beyond Description

by Hugh BrownstoneLeave a Comment

There’s a reason why this short film of Scottish trials cyclist and Internet sensation Danny Macaskill doing his thing in Scotland has garnered more than 17 million views on YouTube since it was published two weeks ago. Watch it.

I really don’t want to write very much about this film, because I don’t think I can do it justice.

So instead I’ll just write that I have never seen a film that so convinced me there truly are sub-species within the human family, nor one which does so with more beautiful and breath-taking intimacy.

I am gobsmacked.

Again: watch it.

But in the vein of “don't try this at home,” please also read this story on his injuries.

#TheRidge is the brand new film from Danny Macaskill… For the first time in one of his films Danny climbs aboard a mountain bike and returns to his native home of the Isle of Skye in Scotland to take on a death-defying ride along the notorious Cuillin Ridgeline.
