My friend Ron Risman (he runs cameratown.com) is doing yet another Timelapse Moab workshop (there was one for May but it sold out so quickly we couldn't get a post out in time!) – but great news, Ron has decided to add another workshop immediately after the May one to start June 2, 2014

About “Timelapse: Moab”
Timelapse: Moab is 5-day advanced dark-sky timelapse & photography workshop designed to teach you the skills needed to capture the night sky. The workshop will be held from May 27-31st, 2014 in Moab, Utah – home of Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and Dead Horse Point State Park. The workshop is centered around the dates of a new moon, giving you access to the most incredible dark skies you have ever seen.
Timelapse Moab Workshop will be limited to 12 participants in order to give each student plenty of personal attention between the two instructors and assistant instructors.

Behind the Scenes: Timelapse Moab 2013
“In October 2013 a group of photographers got together for a workshop event called Timelapse Moab, where they learned how to capture time lapses and more importantly, time lapses of the night sky – under the new moon of Moab, Utah.
What makes this time lapse film different is that it was mostly captured by photographer's who were new to time lapse. The group had instruction over a 4-day period and were also given access to motion control gear. This film is the result of their work.. 3000 images, 4 days & nights. Ron, the instructor, also included a couple of clips of his as well.”
Sample footage from 2013 Timelapse Moab
This breathtaking time-lapse film was captured under the dark skies of Moab, Utah. What makes this film different is that it was captured by photographers new to time-lapses, attending a time-lapse workshop. The group had instruction over a 4-day period and were also given access to motion control gear. This film is the result of their work after just a day or two of instruction. To round out the film a couple of my clips are included as well.
Two days before the start of the workshop the Government closed the National Parks as part of the Government shutdown. As a result, the group was led to other fantastic locations, which this film showcases. The true beauty of the area around Moab, Utah – from Canyons, Plateaus, State Parks and Arches that can be found outside of the National Parks.
