Winning an Audience Award at the AAHSFF film festival was well-deserved recognition for this heartfelt short film. In just 14 minutes I cared deeply about Philippe, his little sister and his Mom as they adjusted to New York after moving from Paris.

I had to look it up – AAHSFF stands for the All-American High School Film Festival. “Yeah, these guys are really young, and with their obvious talent for storytelling, there’s no doubt we’re going to hear more from director Luca Repola and producer Jared Rosenthal.”

Jared Rosenthal's short film “Monitor” was featured in planet5D.

About the film “Philippe”

The project (which I shot and produced with Luca) is about a young man who moves to New York with his family and struggles to overcome the language barrier and make friends. We shot over the course of three days with a Canon EOS C300 and an otherwise limited equipment package and budget.

Jared's most recent project “Passing” was shot on an Sony FS100 with Zeiss primes.
