If you’ve ever wondered what difference editing and music make when you’re putting together a short or feature, this set of incredibly beautiful timelapses from China will give you a wonderful idea – as they’re both made from very similar clips (and they’re some amazing clips) – and you can see the impacts of editing them together in different ways, different speeds, different durations.

The music also makes such a difference in both of these videos. They’re both set up with different themes and styles, but you can see how important the music (and heck, the additional sounds like thunder and rain) is to the perceptions we have for the video we’re watching.
