Here's a shocker that I didn't see coming… the new Nikon Df is a photography camera! It doesn't have video!
And here I thought that every DSLR after the Canon EOS 5D Mark II was going to include video.
Nikon seems to think there's still a market for a camera designed for photographers and they even went into the ‘retro' market with this one designing it to look like an older stills film camera.
Many are already saying the price is a bit steep, $2746, but if the images are good, many were paying that kind of money back in the ‘old days' for photo only DLSRs weren't we?
What do you think?
Nikon has been teasing about this camera for about a week by issuing several videos but Nikon Rumors found it on Amazon today (tho it has been removed as the official announcement isn't due until tomorrow)
The Nikon Df and 50mm f/1.8 kit will cost $2,996.95. The body only is $2,746.96. Both versions are available in silver and black. The release date is Thursday, November 28, 2013. I was able to place a pre-order.
Here's the last of the teaser videos Nikon produced – this is #6
