I posted this the other day on the planet5D HDSLRScoopNews page – but I really wanted everyone to have a chance to hear it… you know if you've been reading this blog, that I really admire Shane and what he's willing to share with everyone – he doesn't hold anything back.

Listen to Shane tell about the 9 different cameras he's tested for the next “Need for speed” movie he's shooting this summer. Included in the tests were the Arri Alexa, the Canon EOS 1D C, the Blackmagic Cinema Camera, Canon EOS C500 and more! Find out by listening to see which camera(s) he plans on using and what their “emulsions” are.

Shane Hurlbut talks about selecting Cameras for Need for Speed

I return to the doddleTALKS Tech podcast on episode 17. We discuss the approach to selecting cameras for Need for Speed, and by testing those cameras, how we found that they each had their own unique digital emulsion. It’s about each camera’s unique abilities and how to use those abilities to your advantage. Part of the challenge on Need for Speed is also managing the process of shooting with eight or nine cameras at one time. Today (April 30), we are on day 21 of the film and love the Canon 4k camera systems.

One cart of 15. Camera count on a normal day on Need for Speed is 28, making the impossible possible fast form factor.
