Behind the Scenes on “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”

Posted on 29. Nov, 2012

Going behind the scenes on the new movie “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” is kind of amazing – you’ve seen BTS videos here and on DVDs, but the videos below seem to just overwhelm you with the number of people and things that go into the production on an endeavor such as this.

As filmmakers, we know what goes into making a film, but on this kind of scale it just becomes absolutely stunning and mind-boggling to think about all the things that have to be done in order to make a major big-screen movie come to pass.

Just look at all the people posing for the camera on this shot from the last day of principal photography!

These behind-the-scenes videos by Peter Jackson show us exactly what it’s like trying to make a movie on this scale, and the first one below shows them trying to finish up the movie before huge deadline.

At this point, I’m eager to see this in a good theater when it comes out in a couple of weeks – I’m dying to see how much I love or hate 48fps on the big screen! Are you going?
