by planetMitch5 Comments

This daily planet5D is an update on how we're recording – this episode was with the Canon EOS 5D Mark II – but don't forget we had a big post on using the 5D2 as a webcam a while ago.

Using a Canon HDSLR (5D Mark II) as a webcam for skype or ustreamthis video is still averaging about 400 views a week – so it is popular!

What's on this episode?

Ok, I broke down and set up the Canon EOS 5D Mark II to use as my webcam to see if there's a change in the color of my room over using the Logitech webcam… plus, it will be used in many other daily planet5D episodes in the future.

I also talk about some of the latest planet5D news as well as the Fostex AR-4i that is an iPhone attachment to enhance audio recording.

Oh, and there's the planet5D lockCircle too 🙂

  1. I also have multiple Canon 5D Mark IIs but I somehow have displaced the CD that original came with the cameras. Is there any other way to get the Canon utility that you spoke of in episode #13?

    Thank you!

  2. Big difference! Now the only thing is you need to cut this down from a documentary length presentation to a MAX of 3 minutes.

  3. Could you drill a hole in that body cap and use it for Pin hole camera work?

I don’t believe so – it would be about an inch long and I thought pinhole cameras needed something thin for their lens?
