It is indeed coming – tho a bit slower than we'd hoped I'm afraid… but all signs point to having our amazing (so says the proud father) Canon EOS 5D Mark III short film out by this Thursday… just before NAB.
I told you about it a few weeks ago (“we’re making a short film!“) and now we're close enough that I can start to give you an idea of what is coming. Barry Andersson and I and the entire crew have been busting our tails to get this ready to show you and we can't wait!
Incident on Marmont Ave
The working title seems to be sticking – “Incident on Marmont Ave” is what we've been working with and it is based on a true story – in fact, the story comes from an incident that happened to our editor Chris Fenwick! Of course, I can't tell you the story, that would impact your perception of the short when it comes out!
We've got so much material to be sharing with you over the coming month or two. Of course, with NAB coming next week, there's going to be a bit of a gap between the first showing of the short and the flowing of the tons of material (quite frankly I'm not sure when we're going to make time to edit all this!)… but I've been keeping a production log since day one and we'll use that as sort of a basis to walk you thru the entire process from conception to release.
We've also hired actors you will recognize from film and TV – but I can't tell you about them yet either… you'll have to wait until Thursday to find out who they are!
A few BTS pix
Some of these (where identified) were shot by our photographer Carrie Vines and some were mine. There are a couple of 5D3 shots, but since mine was in use filming the majority of the time, most of my photos are Canon EOS 5D Mark II and so are Carrie's.
So there you go… there's just a few of the BTS shots that will be coming your way in the next month.
I hope you're excited about the movie – it appears to be the first dramatic Canon EOS 5D Mark III short to come out and we're so pumped to show it to you coming later this week!
Keep your eyes peeled on planet5D for a whole bunch more!
