Beauty in the eye of the beholder – Canon EOS 5D Mark III short – Eye of the mind

I don't know how I missed this one, but this Canon EOS 5D Mark III short has been online since march 2nd… called “Eye of the mind” this is visually beautiful even if it doesn't reveal every bit of the video features of the Canon EOS 5D Mark III.

Canon EOS 5D Mark III – Video test – Eye of the mind

What does your eye see?

After watching, what do you think?

I spent so much time watching the beautiful way they've captured the artist, I didn't notice the details of the camera (isn't that how it is supposed to be?).

  1. WOW?!

The diversity in the Len’s used, the different amounts of light streamed, the vibrant colors…..just pretty incredible overall. How much more apparent resolution depth over the Mark II was achieved with the higher ISO reach makes me wonder. But the fact that I was just mesmerized by the scene I just didnt even care….lol.

  2. Wonderfully shot and edited… the team created something to be proud of.

While I don’t think this is anything that couldn’t have been created with other cameras, it does show the MKIII is certainly up to the task in the studio.

  3. Sorry, just didn’t jump at me and make me think…wow this is an amazing video and how did they shoot that? Vincent Laforet Reverie was a great video that really turned heads when the Mark ii was released.

  4. Any chances to download the original file? At least through YouTube the detail sharpness at 1080p does not seem to be any higher than the 5DmkII. We hoped that this camera would be sharper, for it does not utilizes line skipping and upscaling.

  6. Now that is tacky. And not so easy to tell how well the Mark III resolves the image – still looks mk2 soft judging from this video. Pretty suspect that they release a host of stills but no actual raw video to check. Perhaps upgrading the mkii with the vaf-5d2 and having magic lantern installed could save one a lot of cash.

  7. I had kind of the opposite response. The piece looks extremely videoy and i didn’t really like much of the lighting at all, definitely didn’t paint (sorry for the pun) the canon in a good light.

    1. Wow, it always blows my mind how negative everyone is on these post. I am sure canon has improved the mark III, maybe thats why it took 3 years to update?

  8. Looks pretty damn sharp for me. The “softness” is intentional. Fast lenses give you the razor thin depth of field, and outstanding bokeh characteristics. Very artistic in my opinion. The lighting could have been a little better, but I’m sure the production was speedy.
