Sunday Poll: Two questions about the Canon EOS 5D Mark III

Posted on 29. Jan, 2012 by in 5D mk ii, 5D3

I enjoyed last week’s poll about which was better, the Canon EOS-1D X or the Nikon D4 simply because of the results… yep, I’m a Canon guy and was surprised at how many people were tweeting and talking about how cool the Nikon D4 was and how it was better than the Canon EOS-1D X… yet, the poll results show Canon leading 62% to 38%.

Granted I think most people would say that we’re mainly a Canon crowd over here and maybe if the people reading the Nikonrumors site came over we’d be flooded with votes for Nikon. Hmmm… maybe I should do that some time :)

Which pro camera is the best overall - Canon EOS-1D X or Nikon D4 (in this price range)?

So this week, I thought I’d extend the question a little bit. It seems to me that most of the excitement around the Nikon D4 was that it would have full 1080 clean HDMI output and so I wanted to gauge your expectations for the Canon EOS 5D Mark III – especially considering the Canon EOS-1D X doesn’t have it.

And with all the rumors about Feb 7th possibly being the announcement day for the Canon EOS 5D Mark III, I thought I’d throw in one additional question.

Poll Question:

If the Canon EOS 5D Mark III doesn't have full clean 1080 HDMI out, will you still buy it?

How can anybody vote on whether the 1Dx or the D4 is better because the Canon isn’t even available for purchase yet, is it? I have to be able to shoot with each camera before I can tell which is best.
