Adam Forgione on Editing Songs for your soundtrack

by planetMitch5 Comments

We met Adam Forgione at the #mastersInMotion workshop and we were very impressed with his ability to talk about audio in filmmaking – and he contributed this tutorial on how to break down and edit songs for your soundtrack from his blog post: Editing Songs | Pennylane Workshops.

We'll be having Adam on planet5D live early next year!

Adam writes:

Because I come from a professional music producer background, I'd like to simply show you how songs are broken down. Once you understand that songs are broken up into sections, it's easy to dissect and edit them. I hope that this tutorial helps you save time editing songs.

  1. I need to do this all the time and so far have mainly just cut the ends off as It never seemed to work when I did internal surgery. This will help greatly and has given me big insight into song structure. Thanks!!! Probably the most useful tutorial I’ve seen for a year!
