In our hunt to find you new resources to grow your experience and knowledge, we've found another awesome free asset – the IndieSource magazine which claims to be “the fastest growing free digital independent filmmaker resource.” So, with that in mind, we downloaded the latest issue and enjoyed what we read – and you will too. This current issue sure covers a lot of ground from casting, editing, coloring, acting and a lot more. You do have to register to be able to read it, but it is free and while it isn't specifically HDSLR related, if you're making indie movies, it is worth your time. Plus there's a giveaway – read down below!
Indie Source Magazine is the fastest growing independent filmmaker resource and the only free publication of it's kind. Our mission is to bring you not only stories of the industry's highly celebrated, but stories and insight from players in all areas of the media creation process. Here at Indie Source we believe free is better.
From Christopher Parker (executive editor)
We got this note from Chris Parker:
Our goal is to speak to and for the 90% of hollywood that the other magazines do not speak of. We believe our direct competitors (Moviemaker, Filmmaker) only glorify the 10% of hollywood that are making big budget films and big name actors & directors. We want to bring to light the many others that help make a film possible. Allowing readers to hear from below the line personnel in interviews and/or articles. Stories the readers can connect with. Majority of hollywood/filmmakers are making films, new media projects, TV shows in the range of ten thousand to two million dollars.
Our slogan is “We represent the 90%”.
Our target audience is anyone interested or actively involved in filmmaking. Our Winter 2011 Issue (Dec. 14th) will primarily focus on writers. The Spring 2012 Issue (March 14th) will focus on women in film/TV/new media.
They're also offering a giveaway: “We are also running a contest with Blackmagic Design, giving away two hyperdeck shuttle products in november. Any person that subscribes to the free magazine is automatically enrolled in the contest.”
So there you go – free is good – go register now for your free IndieSource magazine
