On Assignment on the mountain with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II

A Friday fun movie – something I sure couldn’t do – hanging on the side of a mountain to get the shot – this short features a moviemaker with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II (reviews) following a photographer on his journey to capture some amazing mountain climbers.
On Assignment
description
As a climber sometimes our biggest job is to try to do justice to the amazing stories of our friends and peers. For this piece I worked with our crew at camp4collective.com to tell thenorthface.com athlete Jimmy Chin’s jimmychin.com story as he in turn highlights modern day climbing in Yosemite for a National Geographic feature story.
It seemed so serendipitous to be ‘on assignment’ in a place that we all cut out teeth as adventurers and which also ended up becoming the namesake of our collective!
As always, thanks for tuning in! ~reo

Oh man, this is the most spectacular film I’ve seen in a year. What an effort Jimmy has gone to to show the lives and experiences of climbers out there. Superb! (I nearly fell off the sofa at 1’18″)

National Geo is killing it with films like this. I saw one recently with a gentleman who free-climb the face of half dome. It was one of the most amazing docs I’ve seen in a long time and this one definitely is on the same line.
Thanks for sharing.
