Using a pistol grip to record video with an HDSLR

by planetMitch1 Comment

Carl Pendle sent us his cool demo of a DIY setup where he's using an old fashioned pistol grip to record video with an HDSLR! There are all sorts of creative ideas out there on different ways to shoot with your DSLRs aren't there?
What DIY stuff are you using for your HDSLR videos? There's a thread on our forum about steadying your video – you should pop in!

Carl is a photographer and videographer using DSLRs based in the UK (website) and he frequently sends us little tips… thanks Carl!

By using an old pistol grip with a cable release this videos shows you how to add a simple on and off button for taking movies with DSLR cameras.

For those who can't find a cap for the old cable release there is something called a Kaiser Strap-On Cable Release Adapter that might work as well. Type that in Google and see the links. I think B&H sell them on this link
