The tragic events in Japan have touched us all in one way or another – and when we found out Guardian.co.uk reporter Dan Chung (dslrnewsshooter.com) was flying into that disaster to cover it as a news gatherer, we were concerned for his safety. Dan's back home now and has agreed to come on planet5D live today at 8pm CDT (01:00 GMT Wednesday) to talk about the events – how he prepared for the trip – covering the events – the role of the news media – and of course we'll talk about the controversy surrounding his reporting of the events.
UPDATE: April 1 – The conversation we had with Dan about this video is now online – please take the time to give it a watch! You might change your mind if you disliked the video.
