Yesterday, I had the great pleasure of interviewing Dennis Biela from theLastShuttle.com – an incredibly interesting project – Dennis and 11 other photographers (including Trammell Hudson from the Magic Lantern project), videographers, and team members are documenting the end of the USA Space Shuttle program. We got to talk to Dennis about their efforts using Canon HDSLRs (Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EOS 7D etc) to document not only the launches, but the people behind the Space Shuttle program and many of their personal stories.

Dennis and his team are in need of funds to complete this project – we urge you to consider supporting their efforts at Kickstarter – we have!

For more than 50 years NASA and the US Space Program have been exploring the heavens and teaching us more about our world and ourselves. For the past 30 years the Space Shuttle has been at the forefront of those efforts, making invaluable contributions to the fields of science, medicine, and business.

As the Space Shuttle program comes to a close we have the unique opportunity to reflect on the impact it has made in our lives, and the immeasurable contributions it has made to mankind as a whole.
