Who is Patryk Kizny?
We already mentioned he brought you “the Chapel” with the BTS we showed you and we already said he is DitoGear… but what else does this man do and why would you want to talk to him? We asked that question and what an answer we got!
Regarding myself – I've been mainly into digital and visual creation for years and have very multidisciplinary background and wide range of skills. Sort of a man of renaissance. Speaking more in details…
Since 2006 I've been running a branding/interactive agency – Misme New Media where I've been designing, developing, and now I am mainly managing the agency and giving creative direction to my team. That's still my core business.
I've been a photographer for a very long time, but not commercially, rather as a hobby. I started on medium format cameras in high school. Then took a break, then wanted to get back to it in 2009 when I got myself a 5DMKII. So I didn't get back to photography and got into filmmmaking
It was also late 2009 when I got into timelapse. That was a blast. Now, year later I am pushing the edge.
Not much later, in Sept 2010 I met Bob and we immediately founded DitoGear.
Another story is my passion for astronomy and astrophotography.
I've designed and built my observatory and have been taking pictures of the night sky since 2008.
I put together a few more shots of my observatory at work. The season seems to start slowly and I'll have more and more opportunities to enjoy the night sky. This is a small taste of a longer movie that I am planning on shooting this year.
The movie was shot on 5DMKII with 24-105 F/4 Lens and my new timelapse head based on DS2000 mount. Actually I have to get to know this mount, right now I can't tell I feel comfortable controlling and predicting speeds.
And some pics:
So in this context I also shot some Astro Parties:
Check also my Vimeo for more of my films.
Wow, Patryk is a busy man and passionate about gear!
DitoGear DryEyes giveaway
Here's how it will work – we decided to do this one a bit differently than some recent planet5D contests.
To enter – you must post a comment on the planet5D Facebook page AND you must like DitoGear's page. But not only that, the winner will be determined by which comment on the planet5D Facebook page has the most “likes”!
Follow these steps to make sure you do everything correctly:
- Got to the DitoGear Facebook page and “like” it.
- Got to the planet5D Facebook page and “like” it.
- Post your answer to the question on the planet5D Facebook page that asks “Why do you need a clear lens?” – your answer can really be anything, but you've got to be strong enough for people to really “like” it
- Get your friends and enemies to “like” your comment – the more you get the better your chances
- The giveaway closes at the end of the interview with Patryk at 8pm CET on February 23. (Only one posting per person) The top 5 vote getters will win the DitoGear DryEyes packages.
Not too tough eh?
We're looking forward to chatting with Patryk and I know you'll enjoy sitting in and asking some questions as well.
And don't forget to Subscribe to the planet5D International Event Calendar – subscribing will give you event reminders! webcal format or view online (and you can subscribe via iCal)
Note: the title of the calendar is “planet5D interviews” – but it was created before I had the event calendar – it includes all HDSLR events!
