Thought I might try something a little different and y'all can let me know if you like it… we're all busy and our inbox is flooded with lots of things grasping at your attention and I'm sure it is difficult to catch all of the HDSLR news – so I thought a weekly summary might help.
Please let me know in the comments if you think this is a good or bad idea. If nobody wants it, I sure don't want to waste your time with the posts… thanks!
First, I'd like to remind you that tomorrow evening (Sunday – USA time that is – 9pm EST), we're going to interview renowned wedding photographer to the Hollywood stars (and others of course) Robert Evans. You can read more about that interview here on planet5D.
On Monday, we had a really nice chat with Jason Wingrove about the new Sony F3 – he was one of the first in the world to get his hands on one. You can join in on the HDSLR chat every Monday! Tho the planet5D HDSLR chat is open 24 hours a day – pop in any time.
On Tuesday, “Canon EOS-1D MKIV captures the world’s largest aquarium” was posted and if you haven't seen it, you must… maybe it is me, but I'm fascinated by aquariums and this is a beautiful example – sent in by Patrick Moreau from StillMotion.
We also had the “Canon EOS 7D footage at 2000 frames per second?” and there was a lot of chatter around the net about this footage. I was especially taken with the rain that was added in post which seemed to bring out just a little more drama to the slowed down Canon EOS 7D video (which was done with Twixtor).
On Wednesday, we had a pretty extensive post on video bitrate and the updated Magic Lantern firmware beta. I learned a lot while writing the post and I imagine you might learn something too.
We also found a little fun video from Paul Joy where he created this “little HDSLR elf fun for the holidays with @philipbloom, @tomguilmette, @vincentLaforet, @hurlbutvisuals and @pjoy” – I'm going to include the video because it is so fun.
Thursday brought in 2 very popular posts. First came the popular “Thomas Dolby’s new music video “The Toadlickers†filmed with Canon EOS 5D Mark II”. And then, we published the “Canon EOS 5D Mark II wirelessly shooting the Space Shuttle with an Apple iPad” which went ballistic – everyone wanted to read about how to accomplish that… and the cool thing is we've got another blog post coming on wireless methods!
And Friday, we actually took a break! I know, hard to believe – but the kids were off school this afternoon and we took a little time to work on Christmas decorations. But have no fear, I got several new leads (on top of the huge backlog I already have!) for new stories that should be very interesting.
So there – that's quite a week! And I believe that our planet5D news combined with the HDSLR news page, the planet5D cinema and planet5D forums, you won't find a more complete HDSLR site on the planet!
And, the week isn't really over – on Sunday we've got that interview with Robert Evans!
What do you think? Would you like to see more of these weekly summaries or are they a waste of your time? Sound off in the comments!
