Must see! “Hayaku: A Time Lapse Journey Through Japan” (a Canon EOS 5D Mark II movie)

by planetmitch4 Comments

Most of you know that I've been posting the ‘best of' HDSLR movies over on planet5D Cinema, but this one just came to me and I thought it was so good, everyone reading the blog should see it. The timing with the music, the changes in the timelapse, the stunning visuals all make for one heck of a movie. Please watch the whole thing (too bad it isn't available for download)! Or, if you want, head over to our cinema site and give it a rating.

Hayaku: A time lapse journey through Japan.

Japan is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. This is my Japan. This is one of the many reasons why I love Japan. I shot this in many locations around Japan in the summer of 2009. Some of the location include Tokyo, Matsuyama, Imabari, Nagano, Gifu, and Ishizushisan.

I started this as a personal project to try and capture the beauty that I see in Japan. It started as just that…

But now that I have finished, I see it only as a beginning. This video, along with SAIJO MATSURI ( is just the start of a much larger project that I have now decided to do.

So I hope you enjoy this preview of what is to come in the future.

  1. I’ve just got my new Canon EOS 5D Mk II and think it’s an awesome camera, I’ve not yet used it as a movie camera but have heard that the quality is so good that they actually recorded one or possibly two episodes of American TV programme “House” using the 5d Mk II! Remarkable!
