Felicia Day @feliciaday just announced on twitter that the web series “The Guild” season 4 will be shot on the Canon EOS 5D Mark II. We just saw the tweet and thought you'd like to know – we're calling our connections and will have more info later so please keep an eye on planet5D.

She said: “We're shooting The Guild S4 on the tiny Canon D5 this season. I was skeptical because it's so tiny but the footage looks soooo good!” Ok, so there's a slight typo and she called it the D5, but we all know we're talkin the 5D2.

More about the series from watchtheguild.com: “The Guild is a independent sitcom web series about a group of online gamers. The show started in the late summer of 2007, and for the first season was financed solely by Paypal donations from LOYAL FANS. Since season 2, The Guild has been distributed by Xbox Live and Microsoft and sponsored by Sprint.

Episodes vary from 3-8 minutes in length, and follow the Guild members’ lives online and offline.

“The Guild” has won numerous awards, including the SXSW, YouTube and Yahoo Web Series Awards in 2008, and 3 Streamy Awards in 2009: Best Comedy Web Series, Best Ensemble, and Best Actress for Felicia Day.”

  1. Funny, I was just watching it for the first time last night and wondering if they were going to move to a DSLR.

I think it’s a good show, and teaches a lesson about how to connect to specific market segments online and keep it simple…

  2. I prefer The Guild to all the crap on TV these days. Can’t wait for S4…

I’d rather watch The Guild on a constant loop than 5 minutes of any reality show you can name, or any of the CSI/Law and Order/Medical show formula recycle shows that are filling TV these days.. shrug.

Will be nice to see if they have any behind the scenes and feedback on how the 5D worked for them making S4.
