May 10th, 2010 – St. Louis Missouri – planet5D announces the HDSLR International Events Calendar – a fantastic new section added to the “best Canon HDSLR site on the planet”. The new planet5D HDSLR International Events Calendar will be the single location for anyone looking for HDSLR training events, meetups, conferences, contests, film festivals, or any other type of event.

“ is already packed with the best information for the Canon hybrids and it is exciting to add additional features that will continue the success of planet5D – the best one stop site for HDSLR information on the planet” said planetMitch (chief evangelist for planet5D). “Having a single location to find HDSLR events will be a great help to camera fans around the world” planetMitch added.

Features of the Event Calendar

The calendar displays a listing of upcoming HDSLR events around the world. Each event has its own page when the user clicks on the title and the page shows the event details as well as a Google map to help the reader know exactly where to go if they plan to attend.

“One of the best features of this calendar is that it an option to have the reader request a reservation for the event.” planetMitch said. “This will be great for the organizer of a meetup for example. They can get an idea of how many people are coming to make sure they have enough space. The organizer will also get an email from everyone who registers so they can send out their own updates if things change as well.” This optional reservation system won't take payments for an event that has a fee, but can take pre-registrations for example.

Events that don't have any charge (like meetups) will be listed at no charge. Events requiring payment to attend (classes, training, conferences, etc.) will have a small fee – however the event will also get a blog post to announce the event on the planet5D blog – which will get the event in front of thousands of targeted readers.

On the planet5D blog, there are two ways to see the events. In the right sidebar, there's a widget which shows the next 5 events in the calendar. There's also a link at the top of the page which will take the readers to the entire calendar listing.
