Can-Do film festival deadline nears

We posted about this back in December, and for those of you budding filmmakers, you really should get an entry together. The Can-Do film festival deadline is nearing – it is April 20th. My understanding is that they're really hoping to get more entries and urge you to get your movie submitted.

Redrock Micro

HdiRAWworks along with Zeiss, Vimeo, redrockmicro, cineform, and Stargate Studios, are hosting an international short film competition that ends April 20th. There are some really amazing prizes to be had. Judges include some big names: Rick McCallum, Philip Bloom, Rodney Charters, and more!

And, if you look at the can-do site, you'll see that you really have a great shot at winning a prize – so get your entry ready!

FCP Training

Here are a couple of samples I picked randomly from the entries shown:

Commuting from Christopher Quinn on Vimeo.

Thousands of people, everyday, all over the world, make long journeys to work every day.
He is just one of them.

Homework* Cold Sun (Canon 7D) from Emrys Roberts on Vimeo.

This was a quick short I did just before Sunset. We had just had a blizzard the day before in Denver, CO, and it was the first time in a few days the sun had come out. Doesn't mean it was much warmer though.

Camera: Canon 7D, 1080p, 24fps
Lens: Canon 85mm f1.8, Canon 20mm f2.8, Canon 50mm f1.8
