Rumor: Canon EOS 5D Mark III sooner than the usual 3 years?
Posted on 06. Feb, 2010 by planetMitch in 5D mk ii
Canonrumors.com just posted a rumor from a first time source (so they’ve rated it CR1 meaning “New source, never heard from before”) indicating there may be a Canon EOS 5D Mark III sooner than normal. Granted the 5D2 has only been out 16 or so months.

“I’ve been told today that internally Canon has bumped the 5D Mark III launch deadline ahead about 6 months. With the limitations of the Mark II as far as adding features via firmware (more on that in a second), Canon feels the camera needs an update to utilize the features of current dSLR’s.
The email said we can rest assured that Canon will not be on a 3 year product cycle for the 5D line. The source went on to say the 3D is a myth, there are no plans for it currently. The 5D Mark III would get the full frame and 7D autofocus system and a better feature set for video.
*UPDATE*
Before people start canceling orders. I still think this is a late 2010/early 2011 camera and the rumor is CR1.”
They also posted a note about the 720p 60fps rumor, but I’ll let you go read that on their blog. I don’t wanna give away all of their excitement
Please read the whole post!

Any update regarding a 5D Mark III ?
Canon is not really good on letting know his customers about DSLR release.
