Philip Bloom announces new “Can-do film festival and competition”

You're gonna have to be sitting down for this one if you're making videos with the Canon hybrid cameras – Philip Bloom today announced this cool new “Can-do film festival and competition.” He and several others (including another friend of planet5D, Rodney Charters (DP of “24”) are going to be judging the competition.

“It’s not tied into any particular genre. The main rules are not a second over 4 minutes. HAS to be shot on either the 7d, 5dmkII or the 1dmkIV (when that comes out), you can use any lenses, but the bodies are important. Oh, and no nudity or porn!

I am flattered to be asked to be a judge alongside “24″ DP and Canon 5dmkII/ 7D owner Rodney Charters, Tim Smith & Amy Kawalder from Canon USA, Neil Smith & Jeremy Ian Thomas from RAWworks.”

Read more about the project on Philip's blog or read the rules on the Can-DO festival site. Note there is a $40 entry fee. Also note that I don't see the Canon Rebel T1i/500D listed as an eligible camera.

Maybe a reason for the T1i/500D not being mentioned is this rule:

All submissions to be at 1920 x 1080 resolution
