Usually I'm not a fan of the lenses that ship as part of kits like this, but I ended up liking the 24-105mm a lot more than I expected and think it's a good match for anyone looking for a first lens to pair with the camera. Maybe a press, pap or sports photographer would opt for the 1d but that's who its designed for, I don't need the fps and crazy low light quality, I shoot at less that 2fps between 100-800iso, and with the new firmware coming for the 5D I would have a real struggle saying to another PHOTOGRAPHER to buy the 1d, twice the price and tbh not that much more video for your money and actually a lot less as far as stills go.
