I have since devoured their free instructional videos, and their numerous online tips, and blog posts. The Bui Brother's work and their contribution to the community has rekindled my hobbyist love of photography. And they're really nice, fun guys, on top of that. I guess the question I have to ask is - What have you done for the community at large? One thing I sort of will agree with you on, though. The "hype" - I'd prefer to call it "buzz", is large. I'm already trying to see if I can get the brothers for an Anniversary shoot for me and my wife, because I get the real feeling that by this time next year I won't be able to afford them. And when that happens, I couldn't be happier for them. Overhyped Tools?

I don't expect everyone to read all the info on each video they come across and visit the original site (99dollarmusicvideos.com) to find out what it's about, so I'll explain here: Actually EVERYONE who had anything to do with it is credited at the end of the music video, including New American Standard who provided the location and some of the lighting, all the extras... and the Neighborhood Youth Association who helped make the little props. The point of the $99 Music Video website is to show that people can make cool/interesting/artistic/etc. videos on a super tight budget using just $99 AND the resources they have around them. But $17. Really! What that suggests is they took advantage of people who donated sets, location, set design, artists, extras, prop-makers, crew.... Yet there is no mention of these people that I saw. The real cost is surely more than $17, I feel that is bit disingenuous. Other than that, great video, great concept, cool choreography. I’m not being a hater, promise, I dig the Bui Brothers work.
