I know you’ve missed them lately
The Dubai Metro was officially opened yesterday evening, at 09:09:09 on the 9th of September 2009, by His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
This video was taken today, and shows the journey from Nakheel Harbor and Tower Station, to Rashidiya Station – currently the longest journey that can be taken on the Red line.
It’s a fabulous achievement – building from scratch an automated public transport system in just a few short years, and without doubt will transform the city of Dubai, and serve as an inspiration to other cities in the region, and further afield.
This is my way of saying “thanks” to those with the vision to embark on such projects, and to those who work tirelessly to provide them for us.
The music is Fryderyk Chopin’s Waltz number 6 in D flat major, Opus 64 Number 1 – the “Valse Minute”, recorded by Georges Cziffra, and available on EMI Classics. I hope they don’t mind my using it

This was our dove opener morning from about 4:45am to 7:15am , with a star timelapse over Salvation mountain. We made friends with a cat that night that you can see us petting.
I know it looks like I was crazy but these bolts were really really really far away lol.

A DAY WITH TRAVIS PASTRANA from aaron on Vimeo.
I got to spend the day with Travis Pastrana at the Red Bull Compound as he prepared for the X-Games. This is a rough cut of a video I’m putting together for EVS of that day. I haven’t really messed with any color correction, sound, or compression settings yet. All of the footage was shot entirely with the Canon 5DMKII.
Something just very unusual:
