US Army using Canon EOS 5D Mark IIs

planet5D friend @tylerginter works with the US Army and we've been following their use of the Canon EOS 5D Mark II. Tyler and his team have deployed quite a few 5D2s out in the field now and are getting some great media back. I've been planning on putting together a bigger post on their accomplishments, but thought I'd post this quickly to honor one of Tyler's team who recently lost a leg in combat.

Tyler posted this on twitter:
“Artillery in Afghan filmed on 5DMKII by SPC Marcy who recently lost his leg in combat. He is an incredible cameraman!”

As always, please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns!

They're also taking stills and here's a photostream of some. Hopefully, i'll make time soon to make a full post of their accomplishments with the 5D mk ii.

  1. That’s a great video, the sound isn’t too bad either. I wonder if they use an external microphone for the sound or just on board.
