Peter said: “I was lucky enough to get a chance to shoot U2 in Sheffield, UK. A short flight from where I live in Ireland. It was a phenomenal gig with beautiful lighting which made for a great combination of light and shadow. I shot the whole thing with a 5D MK2 (which I love) and a Canon 70-200L 2.8 IS, with the exception of a couple of shots with a Sigma 2.8 15mm Fisheye and a Canon 50mm 1.8. I stuck with RAW which was ideal for this, as some of the lighting was very very strong, and RAW gave me the power to pull back highlights where I needed to. From a creative perspective I love gigs like this, the freedom to use light like a tool by using selective composition to add atmosphere.
All in all I'm pretty happy with the photos, and I hope to get more gig work by using these in my portfolio!
