New from the Canon Australia site – a mini movie completely shot on the Canon EOS 5D Mark II by Clayton Jacobson.

The Trainer – About the Director, Clayton Jacobson

Graduating from Australia’s prestigious Swinburne Film & TV School in the mid 80’s Clayton collaborated with established industry luminaries such as Jane Campion (the Piano) Andrew Dominik (Chopper) and John Hilcoat (the Proposition). Like many directors before him, Clayton cut his teeth directing Music videos for some of Australia’s premier musical acts including INXS, JOHN FARNHAM, KATE CEBERANO and JIMMY BARNES before entering the world of Commercials and feature film production. His 2006 hit film KENNY won multiple awards locally and internationally and spawned the TV series KENNY’s WORLD. Now, watch the “Making Of The Trainer” – granted this is Canon material, but I think that Clayton's points are likely pretty valid based on the number of videos we're seeing lately. (Quote from the Canon site)

“Clayton Jacobson with a crew of 3 spent 2 days shooting THE TRAINER for the CANON EXPERIENCE launch in Melbourne Australia. Shot in and around his fathers Boxing Gym and local Boxing tournament it highlights Ron Jacobson's views and feelings about the sport.

“I wanted to put the Canon 5D MII through the rigors of a low budget film shoot to see how it would perform and i was blown away by the results” – CLAYTON JACOBSON” [flv:www1.canon.com.au/worldofeos/learn/flash/Experimenting-with-full-hd-video_the-trainer_making.flv 560 340]
