Now we already covered all of these videos in earlier posts, but with all the excitement, we thought it best to put them all together.
note, you can view the videos here, but you'll have a better view if you click the link below each video to go to the vimeo site and download the full size video (there's a download link in the lower right of the web page for each video – look for “download”). Note also that Vimeo has 720p size videos, but the 5D mk ii shoots 1080p so you're still not seeing the full resolution from a vimeo post. Vimeo also converts from 30 frames per second to 24 frames – so yet again, what you see on vimeo isn't exactly what comes out of the camera.
First, we saw what happened when the power went out… Rob Sheridan, Art Director for Nine Inch Nails released this quick video taken at last night’s NIN concert in Sydney – there was a power outage and the clips are from the forced intermission.
Then, a day or two later came these two videos
And today, this newest video was released:
March 6th, @rob_sheridan posted yet another video:
UPDATE 3/7 – added what @rob_sheridan says is the “the last of our HD NIN live videos from Australia; “Wish” again, this time with ALL of Dillinger Escape Plan”
I had seen this earlier and forgotten about it, but just remembered. For those of you wanting to see how @rob_sheridan shot these videos, you can watch this “fan video” shot from the audience. You can see Rob several times walking around on the stage with the 5D mk ii around his neck.
UPDATE from @rob_sheridan:
“For all those asking, the audio on those live videos is from soundboard multitracks, and is mixed by our audio wizard Blumpy. The audio is added in post with Final Cut, since we have @blumpy mix it first so it doesn't sound as dry as raw soundboard.â€
Rob also just posted this on twitter: “BTW, all focusing is manual in 5DM2 vids. Feels like a drawback at first, but is actually a fun challenge & makes for very organic footage.â€
on Friday 3/6, Rob updates us on twitter about the lens he's using on the 5D mk ii: “Lots of questions about the lens used in those NIN 5DM2 videos. It's my trusty 50mm 1.8 lens. They look great & are cheap: link to Amazon
